These photos show a newly-upgraded sports pitch in Clydach Vale, which has been delivered as part of the Ysgol Cambrian school investment in partnership with Cambrian Village Trust.
The Council is investing in Ysgol Cambrian, which will become Rhondda Cynon Taf’s fifth Additional Learning Needs school when it opens later this autumn. The modern school will have 176 ALN places and will include specialist facilities like a hydrotherapy pool and well-being centre. Find out more here.
Pupils attending the new school will be able to use the new sports pitch during the day-time, with the Trust managing it for community use during the evenings and weekends.
The upgraded sports pitch is located directly next to the main 4G pitch, managed by the Trust and home of Cambrian United FC. The school development has resurfaced the smaller pitch, upgraded it with a shock-pad, renewed the fencing, and added in a footpath.
Thanks to Cambrian Village Trust and the community for accommodating these works!
A spokesperson for Cambrian Village Trust said: “We’re delighted to have worked in partnership with the Council to deliver these significant improvements to the sports facilities in Clydach Vale, creating a lasting community asset.
“The upgraded pitch will give children attending the school access to state-of-the-art facilities during the school day, while also supporting the continued growth of Cambrian United FC and its Academy, disability and girls' sections outside of school hours. These improvements will help increase participation in sport, create new opportunities for young people, and support healthier, more active communities.”
