Community Meals is one of the ways in which we can help you maintain a healthy, independent lifestyle.
We provide a two-course meal in the middle of the day, Monday to Friday, between 11.30am and 2.15 pm, (except Bank Holidays). There is a daily choice of two main meals accompanied by a dessert. A daily meal option for vegetarian, gluten free and texture modified diets is also available.
Our meals can either be delivered to you at your home, hot and ready for you to eat straight away or alternatively, we can deliver a frozen meal to your home for you to heat at a more convenient time. All meals are delivered by our friendly and helpful Community Meals staff who will also check on your well-being.
For the weekend, there is a choice of frozen meals and desserts from the weekly menu, which can be delivered on a Friday.
The meal service is available to people over the age of 60 who live in Rhondda Cynon Taf. However, meals can be delivered to people under the age of 60, who have been assessed as needing this service.
The service is extremely flexible, meal orders can be changed on a weekly or daily basis. Let us know the working day before if you would like a meal or need to cancel a meal.
The meal is supplied in a special recyclable container with a filmed lid. We recommend that the hot meal should be eaten as soon as it is delivered, and the frozen meal stored in a freezer and reheated in a microwave until piping hot.
For more information, telephone the Community Meals Office on the telephone number below or speak to your Community Meals delivery person.
