Our new Men Against Domestic Abuse Alliance aims to encourage men to become active allies, challenge harmful attitudes and behaviours and promote health, respectful and equal relationships.
Key aims:
- Engage men as active allies in preventing domestic abuse.
- Challenge harmful attitudes, behaviours and social norms that enable abuse.
- Promote healthy, respectful and equal relationships.
- Increase awareness of domestic abuse and its impact on individuals, families and communities.
- Encourage men to speak out, take responsibility and support cultural change.
- Create safer communities through prevention, education and advocacy.
What we are asking partners to commit to:
- Publicly support the principles of the Alliance.
- Nominate a workplace or community champion.
- Raise awareness through communications, campaigns and events.
- Encourage domestic abuse awareness training for staff and volunteers.
- Challenge inappropriate behaviours and attitudes when they arise.
- Promote support services for victims and survivors.
- Engage men and boys in positive conversations about respect and equality.
- Work collaboratively to deliver a shared vision of communities free from abuse.
We are keen to work with organisations and teams that want to support the aims of the Men Against Domestic Abuse Alliance. We can offer advice, training and awareness-raising opportunities, tailored to your needs.
