Where you can park
It is your responsibility to check the signs in each car park. Signs will tell you:
- How long you can park for
- Whether parking charges apply
- Any restrictions that are in place

- Suitable for all-day parking.
- Saturday only - £1 for entry before 10am free parking after 10am

Parking charges
A Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) may be issued in a Council car park if a vehicle is parked not complying with the car park regulations.
Paying for your parking
- All Council ticket machines accept cash and card payments.
- If you cannot pay for parking, you must find alternative parking.

Season parking ticket
If you park regularly in our long-stay car parks, you can save money with a season ticket.

Season tickets are only valid in Council-operated long-stay car parks.

Parking for blue badge holders
If you hold a valid Blue Badge:
- You can park in a designated disabled parking bay when your Blue Badge is clearly displayed for free. (except Catherine Street Car Park)
- If you park in a standard parking bay, you must pay the applicable parking charge and obtain a ticket where required.
- Badge holders must adhere to the maximum stay limit in all car parks.
Always check the signs in the car park before you leave your vehicle.
Motorcycle parking
- Motorcycles can park free of charge in designated motorcycle bays.
- If you park in a standard parking bay, you must pay the applicable parking charge and obtain a ticket where required.

Electric vehicle charging points
- Electric vehicles using charging points in Council car parks must follow the car park terms and conditions.
- Parking charges apply for the full duration of your stay while your vehicle is charging.
- As spaces are limited, vehicle must be moved once charging is complete.

Always check the signs in the car park before you leave your vehicle.
Issue with ticket machine
- Contact the Council using the telephone number shown on the tariff board.
- A faulty ticket machine is not a valid reason for not paying for parking.
- You may receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) if you do not pay for parking.
Vehicle is locked in a car park
Some Council car parks are locked outside their operating hours.
If you need your vehicle released from a locked car park, you will be charged a £50 release fee (including VAT).
