Rhondda Cynon Taf is now part of the Cardiff Capital Region (CCR) which brings together the ten Councils from across South East Wales.
The Local Government and Elections (Wales) Act 2021 has empowered the CCR with statutory powers, thereby enabling a more integrated approach to transport policy making and scheme delivery.
The CCR has developed a Regional Transport Plan (RTP) for 2026 – 2031 that will help address current and future local and regional transport issues in South East Wales by providing the framework for decisions on investment in the future. This document replaces the current South East Wales Valleys Local Transport Plan.
