Report a Biodiversity Sighting
There are many ways you can help nature thrive in RCT. Small actions like taking your litter home, sticking to paths and following the countryside code can go a long way.
Another great way to get involved is to tell us what you see when you are out and about and share pictures of your sightings too. By letting us know what you find in RCT you can contribute to our knowledge and understanding of local biodiversity.
We are interested in all biodiversity sightings including:
- Wildflowers
- Birds
- Butterflies and moths
- Fungi
- Amphibians and reptiles
- Mammals
You can submit your biodiversity sighting using the link below:
Location of Sighting
Our ‘Report a Biodiversity Sighting’ form allows you to indicate the precise location of your sighting by choosing to use the 'Online Map' option of the form. However, if you are not able to do so, please give us as much detail about the location as possible.
What3Words can also be used to inform us of a location when reporting a sighting. Please use their app or website to find the three words which relate to the exact location your sighting.
Providing photographs
You can upload multiple photographs of your sighting when completing our ‘Report a Biodiversity Sighting’ form.
Before you go….
Remember it is important to also submit your records to the South East Wales Biodiversity Recording Centre (SEWBReC). Find out more about wildlife recording and submitting your records to SEWBReC here:
