Parents of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities can get worried about their child’s disability and swimming lessons.
Every child should be treated as an individual so depending on what their specific needs are, they should have the opportunity to learn to swim in mainstream lessons. However, If you discover your child finds mainstream lessons too challenging and isn’t progressing, we offer specific group and 1-1 lessons.
Please contact your local leisure centre for more information.
We are also working in partnership with the Get Out Get Active (GOGA) programme, which is an exciting programme that supports disabled and non-disabled people to enjoy being active together to develop children’s disability swimming lessons in each of our leisure centres.

Currently as part of this programme we are offering lessons at Abercynon Sports Centre and are due to start in Llantrisant Leisure Centre, Brownydd Pool and Rhondda Sports Centre in the near future.
The cost is exactly the same as swimming lesson, £4.50 and free to junior leisure for life members.
