A local pathway off Castellau Road in Beddau has now been able to reopen, following completion of a Council scheme to replace a damaged footbridge

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council has officially opened a new Remembrance Area at Maes Yr Arian Cemetery, Mountain Ash, offering the community a peaceful place to rest, reflect and remember.

Important drainage improvements will soon begin at A4058 Cymmer Road at Dinas. Required works within the road will take place in March, using traffic management over the weekends and outside of the busier travel periods

Welsh Government funding is secured to deliver the scheme, through the Safe Routes in Communities programme. It will install pedestrian crossing improvements and resurfacing at key junctions, plus footway buildouts in targeted positions.

Minimal disruption is expected during the investigations, which will start from the week commencing February 9 and last around a month. However, the informal riverside footpath will be brought out of use for the works, to ensure safety

The work will begin from 8am and will include road closures at sections of Taff Street, Mill Street, High Street, and Market Street. The works will be completed on Sunday, with the road closures lifted upon completion later in the day

It follows several instances of major flooding, a previous announcement by Natural Resources Wales that possible flood risk solutions are unviable, and a subsequent period of engagement with property owners and tenants

The exercise will enable both online and offline participation, including three face-to-face engagement events in local libraries. Residents can take part up until it closes on Thursday, February 12
