Mayor of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Councillor Jill Bonetto, is appealing to businesses and individuals within the County Borough to support her chosen charities.
The last 15 months have been extremely difficult for us all, and for charities who have struggled with their fundraising activities. But Councillor Bonetto, who was appointed as Mayor in May, is keen to do all she can to help charities raise vital funds.
Councillor Bonetto, the Elected Member for Taffs Well Ward, is supporting many charities during her year in office, including Help for Heroes, 2 Wish Upon A Star and AP Cymru as well as supporting the Armed Forces.

After a very difficult time due to the global pandemic, Councillor Bonetto is hoping to meet many organisations and individuals, accompanied by her Consorts, Lawrence Bonetto and Nicola Charlesworth.
Councillor Jill Bonetto, Mayor of Rhondda Cynon Taf, said:
“We have all experienced so much in recent times, one of the most difficult chapters in all of our lives. Many loved ones have been taken away from us far too soon, but they will remain with us always in our hearts.
“I will do my utmost, as Mayor of Rhondda Cynon Taf, to continue the great work of my predecessors before me, flying the flag for our County Borough, safely meeting as many people and organisations as possible, as well as helping to raise funds for charities that are so close to my heart.
“I am also asking local businesses and individuals to make a donation, no matter how big or small, to my Charity Appeal. Every penny counts to these charities at such an important time.”
Help for Heroes - The leading Armed Forces and Veterans charity in the UK. Councillor Bonetto has a family member who is a Gulf War veteran who has suffered Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) following his time in the Armed Forces. She is keen to do all she can to support the charity and its work in supporting Armed Forces personnel and their families, Past and Present.
2 Wish Upon A Star - Providing immediate and ongoing bereavement support for families, individuals and professionals affected by sudden and traumatic death of a child or young adult aged 25 or under. Councillor Bonetto is keen to show her support to the great work carried out by this charitable organisation within communities across the County Borough.
AP Cymru - The autism charity provides direct, bespoke support to autistic individuals and their families during all stages of their journey. Councillor Bonetto wishes to assist this charity any way she can.
Armed Forces - Councillor Bonetto will also be supporting the Armed Forces during her year in office as Mayor. Rhondda Cynon Taf Council was one of the first local authorities in Wales to sign up to the Armed Forces Covenant in 2012.
