Rhigos Mountain Road UPDATE 17/8 / Limited reopening of Maerdy Mountain Road
Maerdy Mountain Road is OPEN between the hours of 4pm-9.30am each day, starting from TODAY. It will be CLOSED every day between 9.30am-4pm to allow important works to continue. Please be aware, two sets of traffic lights will be in place due to the ongoing work, delays should be expected.
Heavy machinery has been removed from Maerdy Mountain which has allowed us to reopen the road in a limited capacity. This has not been possible until now.
Rhigos Mountain Road remains CLOSED TO ALL USERS until further notice. Access to Zip World Tower via Hirwaun side remains open.
Specialist rope access contractors are still on site, removing a significant amount of loose material from the mountainside.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate residents support while we work to reopen the road.
We will provide further updates when more information becomes available.
