The Council has announced that Catherine Street Car Park in Pontypridd will temporarily close for four days from June 13 – to install new ticket machines, while also taking the opportunity to clean the facility.
Work to replace the ticket machine infrastructure will take place from Monday, June 13, to Thursday, June 16. The installations require the former NCP car park to close on a temporary basis, and it will reopen as normal from Friday, June 17.
Taking advantage of this required closure, the Council’s Facilities Cleaning team will attend the site to cleanse all public areas – including all car park areas, foyers, stairwells and lifts – for the benefit of car park users.
Please note, the car park was undamaged by a fire within the wider Ty Pennant building, owned by Trivallis, on Tuesday, May 31. The planned four-day closure for improvements on June 13 is unrelated to the fire.
Alternative car parks are available at a number of locations around Pontypridd Town Centre, including five Council-owned facilities – Gas Road Car Park (short-stay, open for 24 hours), Goods Yard Car Park (long-stay, open for 24 hours), Millfield Car Park (long-stay, open for 24 hours), Berw Road Car Park (long-stay, 7am-7pm) and Sardis Road Car Park (long-stay, 7am-7pm).
Thank you to residents, businesses and visitors to Pontypridd Town Centre for your cooperation during the upcoming temporary closure.
