A Met Office YELLOW weather is in place from 10am until 7pm on Thursday (November 24), affecting Rhondda Cynon Taf, due to heavy spells of rain and high winds, which may cause some disruption.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and drive according to the weather conditions during this time. Public transport may also be affected.
The Council’s Highways and Streetcare departments have already undertaken proactive measures by continuing to clear drains and gullies of fallen leaves due to the time of year. Staff are also continually monitoring water levels in all its culverts.
But the public is advised to remain alert and take extra care throughout the Met Office weather warning. Where possible and safe to do so, residents and businesses are also being asked to themselves help alleviate the risk of flooding in local areas.
There are small actions we can do which could make a big difference at this time, such as removing fallen leaves and clearing other debris from private drains and properties, as these often result in blocked drains and gullies.
If you have any issues outside of office hours, please call the Council’s Emergency Out Of Hours number 01443 425011. Also, follow the Council’s official Twitter and Facebook social media accounts for regular updates.
