We provide support for people experiencing difficulties through the misuse of substances such as:
- alcohol, volatile substances (such as aerosols and glue)
- prescribed and over the counter medication and illegal drugs
Often, we work in partnership with other local or national substance misuse services, offered by healthcare providers, a range of voluntary sector and independent agencies and community groups.
Substance misuse can affect people of all ages, their families and the communities in which they live.
There is a single point of access for advice, information and an easy route into services for those affected by substance misuse in the Cwm Taf area. The Drug and Alcohol Single Point of Access (DASPA) provides easier access for service users, family members, concerned others and professionals to obtain advice or make a referral to all substance misuse services across Cwm Taf, including TEDS, Drugaid, Merthyr Integrated Drug and Alcohol Services (MIDAS), Community Drug and Alcohol Teams and Rhondda Integrated Substance Misuse Services (RISMS).
