Care2Work
The Care2Work programme provides children looked after, young people with care and support needs and care leavers with encouragement and support to identify and access a range of training and employment opportunities.
    
Step in the Right Direction
Two year paid Traineeship programme for children looked after and care leavers aged 16 - 25. Develops skills, knowledge and work experience within RCT Council.
    
Work Experience
Offering work placements within the Council and providing European work placements and University Internships.
    
Apprenticeship and Graduate Scheme
The Councils Apprenticeship Scheme commenced in September 2012. The need for apprenticeship roles are determined through workforce planning needs within each service area and all Apprentices follow a qualification associated with their Apprenticeship role in line with Welsh Government frameworks. Graduate scheme has been in place since 2004, the two year scheme enables Graduate Officers to undertake a range of personal, professional and technical development within a range of different service areas.
    
Careers and Working World
Working in primary and secondary schools offering young people the kind of insights that generate both realism and aspiration in terms of their future life. It’s run throughout years 6 to 13 and the programme is kept up to date using current Labour Market intelligence. Informing young people about the areas of growth and the skills and qualities required. Our main form of delivery is providing information sessions in assembly and whole class formats.
