Protecting children and vulnerable adults is a core responsibility of all staff appointed to the Council.

An application for a post made in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application made in English.

If you’re looking for a job with the Council and can speak Cymraeg, you might be eligible for our Guaranteed Interview Scheme for Welsh speakers. If you meet the essential criteria for a role and can hold a conversation in Cymraeg, you’ll be guaranteed an interview.

Your Cymraeg doesn’t have to be perfect or your first language, and even if you haven’t used it since school, your Welsh skills are valued and could help you secure a job with the Council. If you’re successful in your application, the Council also offers free Welsh lessons and plenty of support so that you can improve and use your Cymraeg while you work.
