FAQ’s

Dangerous Trees

If you have identified a dangerous tree, you will first need to establish who owns the land it is growing on. The Property Information Team can confirm the ownership status of the land on which the tree is located.

If the tree(s) are not growing from Council land, we recommend you express your concerns to the relevant landowner. To enquire as to whom the landowner is you will need to contact HM Land Registry: Search for land and property information - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Dangerous Trees on Council Owned Land

Dangerous trees on Council-owned land should be reported to our Customer Services Team on 01443 425 001 they will then direct your query to the relevant Council department to be dealt with as appropriate.

If you require further advice, please contact: trees@rctcbc.gov.uk

Who is responsible for my boundary fence/wall?

In the event that the property is in private ownership, you may wish to check your own property deeds or take advice from a solicitor.

Do you have any garages available to rent?

The Council only deals with the rental of Council owned land for garage purposes.  This entails the Council renting land to individuals, who in turn construct a garage on the land.

Should you be looking for an existing block type garage, you are advised to contact Trivallis, who acquired the Council’s garage stock in 2007.  They may be contacted on 0300 003 0888.

Does the Council know who owns all of the land within the borough of RCTCBC?

No.  The Council can only provide ownership information on land that is owned by the Council.  For information of land and property ownership of non-Council owned land please contact HM Land Registry

Does the Council own all roads/lanes within the Borough?

No.  For more information on road status please contact: Highways

How do I report a name and numbering change?

For all street name and number queries please contact: namingnumbering@rctcbc.gov.uk

How do I report fly tipping?

Please report fly tipping here: Report it | Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council (rctcbc.gov.uk)

Does the Council own any residential properties?

In December 2007 the Council’s social housing portfolio was transferred to RCT Homes, now known as Trivallis.  Please note: Trivallis is an entirely separate organisation from Rhondda Cynon Taf CBC.  All enquiries relating to ex-Council house properties should be directed to your landlord.
