The finishing touches are being made to what is set to be one of the most exciting nights of the year, as the Nos Galan Road Races 2019 draw near.

Organisers have set the route (no change from last year!) and race numbers were posted out to competitors young and old on December 5th.

The Mystery Runner/s are booked, plans for the funfair and fireworks are in place and all are welcome to visit Mountain Ash town centre for a New Year's Eve with a difference!

Greet the celebrity Mystery Runner or Runners as they arrive in town with the iconic Nos Galan torch, cheer on the young runners and fun runners, pick your favourite fancy dress costume and watch some of the best runners in the area compete in the elite races.

Thanks to the unique community spirit in Mountain Ash, Nos Galan 2019 is set to be just as popular and memorable as the 60 Nos Galan Road Race events that have gone before it!

Councillor Ann Crimmings, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Leisure and Heritage Services, and Chair of the Nos Galan Committee, said: "Nos Galan captures the attention and admiration of the sporting world across the UK and further afield because it is such a unique event.

"We work hard every year to put on a sporting event that is just as appealing to children, families and fun runners as it is for elite athletes, who complete in Nos Galan as part of their professional athletics training.

"With a great atmosphere, fireworks and funfair and the chance to see the celebrity Mystery Runner or Runners launch the proceedings, it's a great night out.

"Now in its 61st year, those of us who are proud to be involved in the organising of the Nos Galan Road Races remain committed to the original aim of the event - to keep the legend of Guto Nyth Bran alive.

"As we continue the Nos Galan Road Races in the memory of its founder, the late Bernard Baldwin MBE, we invite people of all ages to join us in Mountain Ash on New Year's Eve for an unforgettable evening."
