Glyn-coch Sustainable Schools Challenge

An innovative project to deliver a new English medium primary school and community hub for Glyn-coch. The new school will welcome pupils from Cefn and Craig-Yr-Hesg Primary schools, known collectively as the Fern Federation, serving their combined catchment area.

It will be built on the current Craig-Yr-Hesg Primary school site and land adjacent to it. The project is supported by funding from the Welsh Government's Sustainable Schools Challenge, an initiative that aims to deliver three new schools across Wales in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Neath Port Talbot and Gwynedd that embody environmental sustainability and stakeholder engagement throughout all stages of the design, build and operation. The new school for Glyn-coch will prioritise health and wellbeing for pupils, staff, and the Glyn-coch community.
