What better way to celebrate Love Parks Week than with a visit to your local park in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
Enjoy the fun of the children’s play areas with the little ones or savour in the peace and tranquillity of the fantastic walks along the footpaths, surrounded by such natural beauty as the trees and floral displays, not to mention the natural wildlife such as birds, moths, butterflies and even squirrels.
Love Parks Week, promoted by Keep Britain Tidy, is supported by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, and during this time we are also encouraging all of our residents and businesses to be a part of our major Climate Conversation - ‘Let’s Talk Climate Change RCT.’ We can all do our bit, no matter how big or small, in order to make a huge difference globally when the world works together with one goal.

Our aim is for Rhondda Cynon Taf to be a Carbon Neutral Council by 2030 and that the whole County Borough will also be as near as possible to Carbon Neutral by then.
Rhondda Cynon Taf is an area of vast natural beauty. It is home to many parks, country parks, and fine array of wildlife, including some rare plants and animals. Love Parks Week provides the great opportunity to get out and about and explore the natural beauty we have right on our own doorsteps.
Councillor Ann Crimmings, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Cabinet Member for Environment, Leisure and Heritage Services, said: “During the past 15 months our parks and green spaces have been a vital lifeline for so many people, providing ideal places to carry out daily exercise safely throughout the global pandemic.
“Not only do they attract thousands of visitors each year, many of our parks also proudly fly the Green Flag, the international mark of a quality park or green space.
“We cannot underestimate how important high-quality parks and green spaces are to our communities, our health and wellbeing, nature and economy, and I thank all of our Council parks staff who maintain these places, keeping them in a pristine condition for everyone to explore and enjoy.”
