Abass Dodoo, Master Drummer, was born in Nsawam, South Ghana, into a family of famous drummers. Aged six, he was inspired by his grandmother “Abiba Okailey Ablah”, the mother of the Ghanaian famous master drummer, “Mustapha Tettey Addy”, as she taught him drumming by singing traditional rhythms.
He works full time as a musician, providing authentic African music, Jazz rhythms and improvisation.
For the workshop we encourage you to bring along something that can make a sound and be prepared to use your bodies as instruments by clapping and stomping.
We aim to ensure lots of enjoyment and fun along with information on drumming and African culture embracing the celebration of Black History Month.
