The most wonderful time of the year begins as we can now announce tickets for Santa’s Toy Mine at A Welsh Coal Mining Experience, Rhondda Heritage Park, are now on sale!
Santa’s helpers and elves have negotiated the challenges of yet another difficult year to create a festive event that people can enjoy safely and in accordance with current Covid-related guidelines.
Get your tickets and see the magic they have created.
Take the tour through Santa’s Toy Mine and enjoy the spectacle of Christmas magic wherever you look. Meet Father Christmas – socially-distanced of course – and make sure you bring your present wish list!
As well as the tour, Caffe Bracchi will be open and the gift shop is a great place to pick up a present or stocking filler. Christmas trees will be on sale from Heritage Christmas Trees in the car park.
We are delighted to confirm that school tours will return to Santa’s Toy Mine in 2021, running from November 29 to December 17. Tours run from 11am to 2pm and you can book by calling us on 01443 682036.
Cllr Ann Crimmings, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Leisure and Heritage Services, said: “Santa’s helpers have once again worked hard against the challenges of the year to ensure the return of Santa’s Toy Mine at A Welsh Coal Mining Experience.
“As with most other things, it’s a little different than previous years but just as magical. Santa’s Toy Mine is one of our most popular events of the year and we are delighted to be able to secure it’s return for visitors young and old in 2021.”

Tours will comprise of a maximum of 15 people – no bubbles necessary.
Tickets are priced at £10 per person.
Babes in arms and those aged 18 months and under go free but will still receive a present from Santa.

Santa’s Toy Mine is open Sat Nov 27 to Christmas Eve.
From Nov 27 to Dec 18:
- Weekday opening times are 3pm to 8pm.
- Weekend opening times are 10am to 8pm
From Dec 18 to Dec 23
- Open every day from 9am to 8pm
Christmas Eve
- Open 9am to 3.45pm
School Tours

Important information for guests
- Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your tour – this is so important as we have no flexibility to accommodate those who are late.
- Please only enter the visitor centre 10 minutes before your tour – if you arrive prior to this please remain in your vehicles until 10 minutes before your tour is due to start. At this time, you may enter the visitor centre to check in.
- There will, of course, be an age-appropriate gift for all children on the tour.
- Please note, in line with Covid-19 guidelines, there will be no opportunity to walk around or stay on site before or after your tour. If you have made additional bookings with Caffe Bracchi or Craft of Hearts, you will again be asked to remain in those areas for the duration of your booking only.

- Covid guidance will be adhered to at all times so please keep an eye out for signage and hand sanitiser.
- Masks must be work on tour by all adults unless medically exempt
