Green waste collections

Green waste collections are a FREE service for residents of Rhondda Cynon Taf. You need to register for this service.

How it works

You need to register to start receiving collections.

Green Waste collections are free and collected from your kerbside. We send your natural garden and plant waste off to be composted, saving you from taking it to the tip.

Within 2 weeks of registering, you will receive two free green waste sacks and any extra sacks you have ordered. You can order more green waste sacks for £3.20 each when you register or at a later date.

Green waste sacks are registered to an address, not a person. If you move, you should leave any sacks at the address they were originally ordered to.

Collections work on a summer and winter collection schedule.

Green Waste can also be taken to your local community recycling centre (the tip).

To put green waste sacks out for collection:

  • Register for collections
  • Label your sacks with your house name or number
  • Check your green waste collection day in the summer
  • Book a winter green waste collection in the winter
  • Put only green waste in your RCT green waste sacks
  • Do not use black, clear recycling bags or any other sacks not provided by us
  • Do not over fill your sacks, all waste should be within the sacks
  • Put out as many sacks as you need each collection day
  • Cross the sack handles
  • Place your sacks at your usual collection point by 7am on your collection day
