DEFINITIONS

References to ‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’ are references to Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council (RCTCBC). References to ‘you’, ‘your’ and ‘yours’ is a reference to the individual completing the Application Form.

‘The Agreement’ means the membership agreement relating to the Scheme entered into between you and us, which incorporates the Application Form and these Terms and Conditions.

‘The Application Form’ means the application form completed by you in advance of becoming a member of the Scheme.

’The Scheme’ means the RCTCBC’s Leisure for Life Membership Scheme which offers you benefits and discounts we offer at our Leisure Centres.

‘The Membership Costs’ means the total amount to be collected on an ongoing monthly or annual basis, Payment is to made upfront at the start of the term of the membership, or on a monthly instalment basis on the 1st of the month (12 monthly DD membership only).
SCHEME MEMBERSHIP DETAILS

You agree to be bound by the Agreement.

The monthly amount payable by you under the Scheme may change during the term of the Agreement in line with any annual price increase of the Authority

We reserve the right to refuse any application for membership of the Scheme.

The term of the Agreement between you and us shall be for a period of either 1 month or 12 months dependant on the length of membership term and payment method you choose.

All Direct Debit payment method memberships will require an upfront pro-rata payment for the month ahead to initially setup the membership for yourself.

Direct Debit payments for both the rolling monthly non committed membership and the 12 month committed memberships paid via monthly instalments will be taken on or just after the 1st of each calendar month. Annual and Monthly cash payment memberships are paid via a cash, card or cheque payment at the start of the membership agreement term.

The cost of each membership will be fixed for the term of the agreement for said membership.

In exceptional circumstances (such as an unforeseen dramatic change of personal circumstance, injury or illness, which would limit your ability to use the facilities) we will allow early cancellation of the membership agreement before the end of the agreed term. All requests for early cancellation must be in writing or email and each individual request is viewed on a case by case basis. Any upfront payment made for the term of the membership may be refund on a pro-rata basis.

You agree to comply with all our Leisure Centre policies, rules, regulations and procedures.
SCHEME MEMBERSHIP

As a member of the Scheme you will receive a Leisure for Life card. The Leisure for Life card is valid for the duration of the Agreement and is non-transferable.

An electronic photograph will be required to be taken on you first visit, this will be held on our electronic membership system as part of your record to ensure the card can only be use by yourself and your membership is secure.

You can use your Leisure for Life card at any of our Leisure Centres during normal operating hours, all activities, classes and courses are subject to availability.

The Leisure for Life card is issued by us and remains our property. Your card is evidence of your membership and you will be required to produce the card on each visit to receive the benefits of the membership.

In accordance with normal booking procedures, the Scheme membership entitles you to book facilities at our Leisure Centres up to 7 days in advance, by quoting the membership card number. Any bookings made using the Leisure for Life card which are not honoured may be invoiced / charged at the full adult / court rate. Alternatively, the cardholder may be required to pay the full adult / court rate at the next visit. The exception to this is where at least 24 hours notice for court booking and 2 hours for class booking cancellation is given, where the card holder may not be subject to charges.

All Leisure for Life card holders can access the online booking facilities which gives direct access to leisure centre courts bookings and class places; these can be booked in line with the booking privileges list above. To access this facility you would need to supply a valid email address, which is attached to you electronic membership record.

Should you lose or damage your Leisure for Life card a replacement card can be issued to you at any of our centres (identification may be required and there may be a charge if cards are repeatedly replaced).

Should a Leisure for Life card be lost or stolen, then the cardholder must immediately notify the Council. Until notification is received, the cardholder may be liable for any transactions made with the Leisure for Life card.

The Leisure for Life card cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers or promotions we may run from time to time.
These terms and conditions of use should not be regarded as exhaustive and RCTCBC reserves the right to amend such terms and conditions from time to time as is reasonable.
We reserve the right to cancel or withdraw the Agreement and / or prevent access to our Leisure Centres should you be found to have breached any part of the agreement or if there is a breach of any other Leisure Centre regulations.
We reserve the right to cancel, withdraw or change the terms and conditions of the Scheme at any time without giving you notice and at our discretion.
DATA PROTECTION
We take our responsibilities for data seriously. We will only use your information for the purposes of the Scheme and in accordance with current data protection laws.
LIABILITY
We and our employees, officers and agents will not be liable in any way for the loss of, or damage to, or theft of your (or your partners, where applicable) property or for personal injury and death except to the extent that such loss, damage or personal injury or death arises from our wilful act, negligence or default.
