Students also support the many festivals, competitions and events that Sport RCT provide.
Over 300 sports clubs in Rhondda Cynon Taf provide a diverse range of inclusive opportunities to people of all ages and abilities. Thousands of people across RCT play their part by giving up their free time to coach, wash kit, manage teams, chair committees and to do all the other jobs required in a busy club.
For clubs to continue providing a quality experience to their members it is vital that they value, support and develop current volunteers, whilst actively recruiting new ones.

Family support and influence plays an important role in a child’s physical activity. During early childhood parents and other close family members can help to develop positive habits and attitudes towards sport or physical activity. Family support is crucial, whether it is encouraging physical activity through play at the beach or park – or enabling and funding their access to structured sport sessions. Some parents choose to volunteer at their child’s sports club, but all will play a role and show commitment just by getting their child to that club. Positive, healthy habits passed down from family members can ensure that a child has the skills, confidence and motivation to be active for life.
