Dan-Y-Mynydd

This dedicated extra care housing scheme was completed in summer 2026. It has delivered 60 extra care beds on the site of the former Dan-y-Mynydd Residential Care Home in partnership with Codi Group, along with many other modern facilities including a day centre provision.

The new four-storey building has been built off Bronwydd Avenue, and the wider development has also included a dining area, hair salon, activity room and offices, plus a garden area for residents to enjoy and an external car park for visitors.

Porth-outside

This new accommodation in Porth became the fourth extra care housing scheme in Rhondda Cynon Taf (after the existing Ty Heulog in Talbot Green, Maesyffynnon in Aberaman, and Cwrt yr Orsaf in Pontypridd).

Residents will live in their own apartments and can come and go freely with staff present for scheduled care, and help in any urgent situations

Construction and handover of Porth extra care site now complete (July 2026)

Intelle Construction delivered the main construction phase on behalf of the Council and Codi Group (formerly Linc Cymru). Radis Community Care is providing all on-site care and support.

Porth-inside

The old care home buildings on the site were demolished, and planning permission for the extra care development was granted in 2021.
