New care accommodation, Mountain Ash

The Council and its partner Codi Group are building a first-class, modern care accommodation on land off Darran Road in Mountain Ash, which is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2027. It will cater for several care options on a single site.

Contractor JG Hale Group started initial site preparation work in January 2026 following several important milestones with progressing the development – including securing planning permission in 2024 and site clearance works in 2025.Darran-Road,-Mountain-Ash

The development will include 25 Extra Care apartments, 15 dementia residential care

The wider scheme includes access, parking and landscaping work within the site boundary, with biodiversity and sustainable drainage within the scheme’s design.

Minimal disruption is expected for the wider community during the construction phase – and while the development might bring some increased traffic locally, this will be managed by the contractor’s site team to limit the impact.
