A Met Office YELLOW weather warning for severe gales of up to 70mph, accompanied by heavy blustery rain showers, affecting the whole of Rhondda Cynon Taf, comes into effect from 9pm today (March 10) to 3pm Thursday (March 11).
Motorists undertaking essential journeys are advised to take extra care during this period and drive according to the adverse weather conditions, allowing extra time for their journeys. Many roads will also have increased speed restrictions in place.
The Council will be closely monitoring the weather conditions for the duration of the Met Office weather warning and will respond to any issues, should they arise.
