To mark Noise Action Week 2021 (May 24-29), Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is working with its partners to raise awareness of the problems of excess noise in our communities.
Noise in the wrong place and at the wrong time disrupts the relaxation, work and disturbs the sleep of other people. The impact of noise on the health and well-being of others is also recognised.
Often, a noise problem is simply a lack of thought and consideration and is solved by asking the noise maker to reduce the volume. The Council is therefore encouraging its residents and businesses to respect others.
Noise Action Week, which promotes peaceful neighbourhoods, aims to get everyone considering the impact of the noise they make. Noise Action Week is an annual initiative co-ordinated by Environmental Protection UK since 1996. It is a voluntary organisation supported by pollution control professionals, which has been working for a cleaner, quieter, healthier world since 1898.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council wants EVERYONE to have an enjoyable summer and is working with residents and businesses to ensure noise levels are at an acceptable level at all times. There is no acceptable time to cause a noise nuisance to neighbours or those nearby.
