Storm Eunice Service Changes

As a result of the RED and AMBER weather warning affecting Rhondda Cynon Taf on Friday, February 18, in the interest of public safety, the following Council services are affected:

  • All non-essential services are suspended
  • All schools closed
  • All kerbside collections suspended
  • All Community Recycling Centres closed
  • All day centres and community buildings closed
  • All leisure centres closed
  • All libraries closed
  • All public toilets closed
  • All parks and attractions closed
  • All mountain roads and high routes closed from 00.01 on Friday 18th February, except to emergency vehicles and essential service providers

Councillor Andrew Morgan, Leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, said: “The Met Office issuing a Red Weather Warning is a rare occurrence and I urge the public, in the interest of the safety of themselves and others, to adhere to this warning.

“If possible, stay at home for the duration of the weather warning, only leaving your home if essential, in order to protect yourselves and ease the pressure on Emergency Services

“Please take note the weather warning is clear that there could be a risk to life. The Council has therefore activated its emergency plans and will continue to issue regular updates.”
