Young Learners at Cwmbach Church in Wales Primary School are to feature on the world’s longest-running children's television show, having taken part in a successful UK-wide literacy challenge.
The children have enjoyed being a part of BBC TV’s Blue Peter Reading Challenge, which encourages thousands of children to sit down and pick up a book – so much so, they are now official judges at the annual Blue Peter Book Awards.
Councillor Jill Bonetto, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Cabinet Member for Education and Inclusion Services, said:
“Congratulations to all at Cwmbach Church in Wales Primary School for being selected as judges at such a prestigious book awards.
“Blue Peter is a television series that we have all grown up with, so to be a part of it is something very special and something the young learners will remember for the rest of their lives.”
