Significant work to repair and future-proof Bodringallt Bridge in Ystrad has recently been completed, to ensure continued support for the section of A4058 that it carries.
The scheme has infilled the void beneath the bridge, ensuring the bridge deck no longer functions as a structural element.
The embankment slope has also been reprofiled to complement this – which is shown in the image on the left. The embankment has been seeded and will become a green area when the grass grows.
In addition, a highway drainage system has been installed, the metal parapet has been repainted, several walls have been repointed, and the western approach wall has been rebuilt.
The scheme got underway in January 2024, and has been funded via the Council’s ongoing Highways and Transportation Capital Programme.
The work was carried out with minimal disruption to the community. Thanks to residents for your cooperation throughout.
