Preparation, Planning and Response for Emergencies

The Emergency Planning department at Rhondda Cynon Taff CBC plans, tests and and trains staff to make sure we have the correct arrangements and procedures in place to deal with any Major incidents or emergencies that occur in Rhonda Cynon Taf. We work in partnership with emergency services, NHS, transport and utility companies to develop local emergency plans, based off the South Wales local resiliance forum Risk register, to make sure we have an affective response to emergency incidents, and keep communities safe. 

In a multi-agency emergency response, Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) Council works closely with partners such as the police, fire service, ambulance, health bodies, the Coal Authority, and Welsh Government to coordinate efforts and protect the public. RCT will likely open its emergency control room to manage the incident, and invite multi agency partners.
