The Education (Admission Forums) (Wales) Regulations 2003, require every local authority in Wales to establish an admissions forum.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Admission Forum plays a key role in ensuring a fair admissions system that is easy and straightforward for parents to understand.
The Forum is responsible for monitoring our compliance with the School Admissions Code 2013. The forum discusses the effectiveness of local admission arrangements, consider how to deal with difficult admission issues and advises on ways in which their arrangements can be improved.
Membership of the forum includes school members (head teachers and governors) and non-school members such as council officers, members of religious authorities and representatives of the local community. The regulations state the maximum number of representatives for each group.
The forum meets twice a year, as required by the regulations.
