School Services

Our Community Sport and Physical Activity team offer a range of support to primary schools and secondary schools in Rhondda Cynon Taf. 

Please see below the ways in which we can support your school to become more active, more often.

Festivals and Events

In partnership with National Governing Bodies we run a number of free school sports festivals and events. These give your pupils the opportunity to take part in fun competitions with other schools, learn new skills and discover local community clubs. Leadership and Development

We offer a number of ways to develop the leadership skills of your pupils.

Young Ambassador Programme
The Young Ambassador programme aims to empower and inspire young people to become leaders through sport. Our Young Ambassadors are the voice for sport and physical activity in their schools and community. The programme offers a leadership journey from Bronze (Year 5 and 6) to Platinum (Year 11 and above). PlayMakers
The PlayMaker Award is a Sports Leaders qualification and a great introduction into leadership for students aged nine and over. The award is a 6 hour course which focuses on developing the learners leadership skills. To register interest in a PlayMaker course please complete the form at the bottom of this page.

School Fund

Our School Fund is designed to support primary and secondary schools to develop sport and physical activity provision within their school. Primary schools can apply for up to £250 and secondary schools £500 per academic year. For more information and to apply please see our school fund page.

School Sport Survey

Sport Wales launch this survey every two years. Our team can support you to complete the survey and develop projects based on your report. If you completed the 2018 survey and you would like support with your results please complete the request form at the bottom of this page.

Extracurricular clubs

Our leaders can support you to establish new clubs at lunchtime or after school. If you would like to book a member of our coaching team to deliver an extracurricular club please complete our booking form by clicking here. If you would like some support to develop and run a club yourself please complete the request form at the bottom of this page. 

Staff training, mentoring and support

We can provide school staff with workshops and mentoring based around providing physical activity to under 7's and sport to under 11's. To view our training calendar please click here. To request support with training and mentoring please complete the request form at the bottom of this page. 

Links to National Governing Bodies and Community Clubs

We link with a number of National Governing Bodies that have school initiatives. We can work with you to offer these in your school. Our leaders can also support you to link with local sports clubs in your community, providing potential exit routes to compliment your activities and offer new opportunities for your children. To request support with National Governing Body or community club links please complete the request form at the bottom of this page.
