The latest repair scheme to a section of damaged river wall at Berw Road in Pontypridd has recently been completed.
The Council started work in early November to repair the masonry wall opposite Berw Road Field (between the road’s junctions with Lewis Terrace and Graigyrhesg Road).
The scheme included rebuilding a small section of the structure – and all works have now been completed by the contractor, as shown in the image on the left.
A temporary suspension of the parking bays on the opposite side of the work site on Berw Road has now ended.
The scheme follows separate repair work to a different section of the Berw Road river wall earlier this year, at a location further south. The completed works are shown in the image on the right.
Both schemes have been delivered via the programme of Storm Dennis repairs in 2023/24, wholly funded by Welsh Government.
Thanks to residents and road users for your cooperation throughout.
Please note, a further scheme to the mid-section of the wall will be completed in summer 2024.
Further details about this will be communicated nearer the time, but minimal local disruption is expected.
