What did you do before starting the apprenticeship?
I worked for a supermarket as a home delivery driver
Why did you apply for the scheme?
I applied for the apprenticeship scheme as I wanted to start a career. The opportunity to go back to college and earn while I learn appealed to me. Working for the local authority seemed like a very good opportunity that I did not want to miss. They had a number of posts available but I chose to apply for the Energy and Carbon Assistant as this appealed to me.
What development have you had since being with RCT?
I am currently studying HNC Construction & the Built Environment (Building Services Engineering) qualification at Bridgend College. In addition to this, I have become a qualified first aider and developed my professional skills.
What were the highlights?
My highlights so far include learning how to conduct energy surveys. Developing my professional skills and attending a first aid course.
