Jessica Phibben - Asset Assistant

Name: Jessica Phibben

Year started the apprenticeship: 2021

Current Position: Asset Assistant – Permanent Full Time

What did you do before starting the apprenticeship?

I had just come off maternity leave from having my son when I found myself jobless due to Covid-19.

Why did you apply for the apprenticeship scheme?

Property has always been a huge passion of mine, so when the opportunity to explore this further arose, I applied as soon as possible. Due to having my children young, I felt I put my work ethic on the back burner to bring up my babies, however as soon as I started my job within the council, I found myself again. I’m so grateful, as just over a year into my job I’ve able to further progress within the Corporate Estates Team.

What development have you had since being with RCT?

In January 2021, I started a Business Administration Level 3, I did this alongside my role as a Property Information Assistant within Corporate Estates. In February 2022 I was made a permanent member of the team as an Asset Assistant.

I am due to complete my college assessments within the next month.

What were the highlights?

Finding myself and my passion again after having children.
