Important Service Update
Response to Covid-19 Pandemic and Omicron Variant
As Of Tuesday 4th January 2022 the following restrictions will return to all RCT Libraries:
- Social distancing of 2m between all library users.
- One way systems whilst in library buildings.
- Quarantining of returned library materials (Items to be placed in green recycling bins at entrance of library for 72 hours).
We remind library users that you must wear a face covering when in the library unless medically exempt and that you must sanitise your hands on entry.
Limited numbers will be allowed in premises at any one time, please be aware you may be asked to wait to enter the building by a member of library staff.
Please note that the ‘Order & Collect’ system is still operational.
Any changes to these rules will be advertised in libraries on council social media or on our website at www.rctcbc.gov.uk/libraries
- Public access PC’s, 2 Hr sessions reinstated along with walk in use no need for an appointment, social distancing rules will still apply.
- Borrowers encouraged to use self-service kiosks where available.
- Procedures put in place for staff monitoring of social distancing and borrower numbers and action will be taken if the library becomes overcrowded.
- Perspex screens at points where face to face contact may occur.
- Library shelving rearranged where possible to encourage social distancing and create one-way systems. If possible different entry and exit points to be used.
- Limited use of community meeting rooms will also be allowed.
- Use of the Reference areas to be allowed by drop in and appointment. Any local history materials used to be quarantined for 72 hours.
Please note all current Covid restrictions to service delivery will continue to apply until further notice.
