More than 7,300 people came along to Lido Ponty during the two-week Easter holidays, a total of over 30,000 visitors since the National Lido of Wales opened last summer.
It has been an amazing start at the Council’s major tourist attraction, which was officially opened on August 29, 2015.
Cllr Ann Crimmings, Cabinet Member for the Environment, Leisure and Culture, said: “What a fantastic start to our 2016 season at Lido Ponty, welcoming over 7,300 visitors in just two weeks. A massive thank you to everyone who came and joined us.
“Not only did we have over 7,300 visitors, but over 3,000 of them took part in our wide range of water activities, from Walter Walkerz to Boats and Floats and Giant Inflatables.
“The number of people visiting Pontypridd and Lido Ponty is testament to how popular the facility has been since its opening last year and the added trade from visitors also popping into town has been welcomed by town centre businesses.
“We are now looking forward to our 15 week summer season and welcoming thousands more people to Pontypridd.”
It is FREE to swim throughout 2016.
Doors re-open again on Saturday, May 28, until Sunday, September 11.
