What A Week At Lido Ponty!

We have had an amazing first week at Lido Ponty, the National Lido of Wales.

Since opening for the 2016 season on Good Friday, exactly one week ago, the Council’s major tourist attraction has welcomed over 2,800 visitors to date, with lots of people taking the opportunity to book their places online in advance.

Lido Ponty, the National Lido of Wales, will remain open from 7.30am until 7.15pm daily until Sunday, April 10. It will then be open fully for the 2016 summer season from Saturday, May 28, until Sunday, September 11.

Our first daily session features lane swimming for the more dedicated swimmers. This is followed every day with five 90-minute sessions featuring casual swimming and activities, as well as lane swimming for all ages.

Lido Ponty has three heated swimming pools (main pool, activity pool and splash pool) offering great opportunities for families, dedicated swimmers, social swimmers and thrill-seekers of all ages and abilities.

Also on offer are a range of activities which include Aqua Scooterz, Aqua Peddlerz and Water Walkerz which are available for £2.50 per person.

Lido Ponty, the National Lido of Wales, is the only facility of its kind in Wales and is Wales’ premier outdoor pool attraction and adventure play park. Admission is FREE for all ages during 2016.

Features at Lido Ponty include external and internal showers, heated indoor changing facilities, original wooden outdoor changing cubicles and a state-of-the-art Visitors’ Centre which tells the amazing story of The National Lido of Wales.  It is also home to Lido Play, an amazing outdoor childrens’ adventure park.

Cllr Ann Crimmings, Cabinet Member for the Environment, Leisure and Culture, said: “We have had an amazing opening week at Lido Ponty, especially when you consider we have had mixed weather conditions over the past seven days.

“It just goes to show that the public absolutely love Lido Ponty and come along whatever the weather.

“We have heated changing facilities and our pools are heated to a comfortable 28 Degrees - there is no other place quite like it in Wales.

“We are open until April 10 so there is still plenty of time to come along and enjoy a great family day out at the National Lido of Wales before we begin our summer season on May 28.”

You can secure your space and securely book your activities up to 7 days in advance via the new online booking service
